The "Windshield Wonder"? - AmericaNowNews.com

Windshield Wonder: Does it Work?

Whether you're driving a hot rod or a hot mess, you need to be able to see out your windshield for safety purposes - even if you're not fanatical about keeping your car very clean.

We enlisted the help of expert car detailer Emmett Johnson to test out the Windshield Wonder, a cleaning device that's supposed to be easier to use than paper towels - and it is supposed to work without window cleaner.

Typically, Emmett uses towels and a window cleaner.

"I wipe one side of the towel when it is wet, and flip it over to the dry side and work it back and forth," says Johnson.

The Windshield Wonder allegedly works with a reusable microfiber cloth that you just spray water on - a lot less expensive than using a cleaning solution.

Emmit did like how easy it was to reach across the windshield, especially when doing the "inside" window.

As for how well it cleaned - he wasn't very impressed. He said, "It actually leaves the dirt behind and causes it to streak."

And if you are using this on a really dirty car, you're probably going to run out of the microfiber cloths.

We asked Johnson if he would buy the Windshield Wonder, and he said no.
