Organic foods are produced without things like pesticides or chemical fertilizers. But they typically come with a higher price tag. So, if you're on a budget, Cleveland Clinic registered dietitian Kristin Kirkpatrick says there are certain organic foods you should pass on.

"Think of things that have a really big rind. So, pineapple, for example, or cantaloupe, would be two things that you probably shouldn't waste your money on organically. Sweet corn and onions, those are also on the list of the 'Clean 15,'" says Kirkpatrick.

Avocado, mango, and bananas are also foods you should not buy organic. The foods on the Clean 15 typically have a big rind or a husk or peel. Kirkpatrick says this helps to keep pesticides from reaching the fruit or vegetable inside. And she says to stay away from organic foods that are not healthy.

"Remember not to get swayed towards an organic product simply because it's organic. It may not be any healthier and that's what we call the 'halo effect,'" she explains. "You buy an organic cookie because you feel it must be healthier, but it still has the fat; it still has the sugar."

Kirkpatrick says if you're unsure, check the list of the Clean 15 foods you should never buy organic:
