Shopping apps that save money

There are several great shopping apps out there, and better yet, many of them are free!

One of the most popular - "Shop Savvy". Like many of the other apps, it uses your phone's camera to scan and read product barcodes. Then "Shop Savvy" automatically compares that price to thousands of others in both online stores and brick-and-mortar ones. You then get a list of the best prices in your area, plus maps to the stores!

Then there's "Snap Tell", also a free app for the iPhone and Android. You can use it to take a picture of the item you want, then snap tell will spit out ratings, reviews, and comparison pricing information!

Then there's "Sale Saver". This one is great if you have a pile of coupons for "20% off" or so for a certain day. Sale Saver has a price calculator that lets you figure in your discounts and store all of your would-be purchases in a cart to figure out how much you'll spend, and how much you'll save.

There's also "Mobi-q-pons". It's a free app that shows you coupons in your neighborhood for stores, restaurants, and other services.

When you see a coupon you want to use, you just click "use" and show your phone to the cashier, who types in the number or scans the barcode.
