How to create model cheek bones

Ever wonder how those models' faces on the magazines seem so toned, with such high cheekbones? Our beauty expert, Jessica Metivier, will show how to shape up or shape down what nature gave you.

"Chiseled cheekbones shouldn't be restricted to glossy magazines or runway models. There's no reason why you too can't enhance your own facial features, with a little trick of make-up," Jessica says. "I'm going to explain how you can use contour and a highlight to really make your cheekbones pop!"

Imagine light was shining directly in front of you. The areas on your face that are naturally shadowed – under your jaw, temples, hollow of your cheeks -- get contoured. Areas that light hits – top of your cheekbones, brow bones, center of your nose -- get highlighted.

A contour kit, which has a contour, highlight and a bronzer in it will help you define your cheekbones and slim your jaw line.

Here is Jessica's step-by-step technique:

  1. Lightly contour the face with the powder.
  2. Create a shadow under the jaw that instantly creates the illusion of a more defined, leaner chin.
  3. Apply blush right to the apples of the cheeks.
  4. Add in some highlight, applying it so it reflects light onto the face. You apply it to the tops of the cheekbones, then to the tops of the brow bone, and down the center of the nose.

"So there you have it," says Jessica. "Chiseled cheeks, a slimmed down jaw line, and a beautiful glow in just a few easy steps!"
