Leeza Gibbons presents Women of Achievement Award to Giuliana Rancic


Actress, Comedienne and Radio Personality Lisa Ann Walter Hosted 

(Los Angeles, CA – May 9, 2012)  The Associates For Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies, affectionately known as the ABCs, hosted its annual, star-studded Mother's Day Luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel, today, Wednesday, May 9, 2012, to benefit breast and prostate cancer research at John Wayne Cancer Institute (JWCI) at Saint John's Health Center.  Women of Achievement Awards were presented to Kris Jenner, Giuliana Rancic and Jillian Reynolds.  Actress, comedienne and radio personality Lisa Ann Walter emceed.  Beverly Cohen and Lana Schervone co-chaired.  Sherry Rosenblum chaired the boutique which featured a fashionable array of select vendors donating a portion of proceeds from their sales to the organization.  

"All of our honorees are not only accomplished figures in their respective professional arenas but each is personally dedicated to alleviating struggle and suffering in our community," said Gloria Gebbia, President of the Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies.  "We are honored to celebrate these remarkable women for their generosity, commitment, and contributions to making a difference in the war against cancer." 

Patrick Wayne, Chairman, John Wayne Cancer Institute, presented a Women of Achievement Award to Kris Jenner, star, creator and executive producer, along with Ryan Seacrest, of the hit reality television series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians for E! Entertainment network.  Jenner also executive produces her other hit TV shows Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York and Khloe and Lamar.  Jenner is a New York Times best-selling author and president of her production company, Jenner Communications.  An avid spokesperson and supporter of numerous charitable organizations including the Brent Shapiro Foundation for Drug Awareness and Make-A-Wish, she currently serves on the board of several foundations including The Dream Foundation, an organization that grants wishes to terminally ill adults. 

A Women of Achievement Award was presented by television personality, author and host Leeza Gibbons to entertainment journalist, fashion and beauty expert and television personality with 2.5 million followers on Twitter, Giuliana Rancic.  Co-anchor of E! News and co-star of E!'s Fashion Police, alongside Joan Rivers, Rancic recently announced that she has early stage breast cancer in the hope of encouraging all women to be proactive with their breast health.  Executive producer of her hit reality show, Giuliana & Bill on the Style Network, she is currently a weekly fashion contributor for OK! Magazine and in 2011 launched FabFitFun, a daily newsletter focused on beauty, health and wellness.  Rancic is a tireless supporter of numerous charities including Operation Smile, Dress For Success and Children's Miracle Networks. 

Ethan Wayne, President, John Wayne Enterprises & Chairman, John Wayne Foundation, presented a Women of Achievement Award to actress and television personality Jillian Reynolds, co-host, weather forecaster and fashion expert on Good Day LA, the Emmy Award-winning, top rated Fox morning show.  In September 2000 she joined Fox NFL Sunday.  Reynolds hosted the fourth season of American Idol Extra as well as appearing on the reality show Househusbands of Hollywood, starring her actor-husband Grant Reynolds, both airing on Fox Reality Channel.  In addition to having filmed a role in the 2007 blockbuster, Alvin and the Chipmunks, notable television credits include My Network's Fashion House, the WB's RELATED, Bravo's Hidden Howie, Fox's MAD TV, Fastlane, Quintuplets, Beverly Hills 90210, UPN's EVE, Clueless, MTV's The Andy Dick Show, CBS's Yes Dear, NBC's Good Morning Miami, FX's V.I.P. and HBO's Arliss. Reynolds is a spokeswoman for the Nutri System weight-loss program. 

The ABCs was formed 22 years ago by a group of dedicated philanthropists who had originally been associated with the Eddie Cantor Charitable Foundation, an organization that supported a variety of causes. These individuals wanted to devote all their charitable efforts and resources to eradicating cancer, and unanimously chose to support progressive and innovative breast cancer and prostate cancer research at the John Wayne Cancer Institute (JWCI).  Today, the Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies are over 150 members strong and growing.
