Put the 'fun' in fundraising with pedal cars

Drumming up dollars for schools and other community groups can be really tedious, but we found an idea for fundraising that's also fun!

Auto Expert Steve Strope recently visited the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, Calif.; where some amazing exhibits span over 100 years of automotive history.

One of the museum's current displays is also a fantastic idea for a charity fundraiser that you can help organize in your community.

Here's what they did:

They invited nine of the hottest hot rod builders in the country to create pedal car versions of their personal style of hot rod. Each builder started with a pedal car 1932 Ford Roadster. They used their vision, craftsmanship and passion to create a one-off collectible that will be auctioned, with the proceeds going to charity.

Why not inspire the artists and craftspeople in your town to create their own versions of a unique art project for charity? It could be hand-painted garden pots, miniature rocking chairs, or bird houses...the list goes on.

Any item that shows off artistic or design skill and will get people to bid on it at an auction will work. And the best part is, it's fun for everyone!
