Many drivers don't use turn signals - AmericaNowNews.com

What causes the most accidents?

Do you use your turn signal when you drive? If not -- you're not alone.

In fact, it's one of the things drivers often forget when on the road.

A new report out -- said to be the first of it's kind -- suggests not using your turn signal can cause more accidents than distracted driving.

The study lasted a year and was conducted by the US Society of Automotive Engineers. It monitored 12,000 instances where drivers should have used their indicators, mainly when changing lanes or turning corners.

The organization estimates that US drivers fail to turn their flashers on about two billion times a day.

More work will need to be done in order for the study to be considered conclusive.
