Great first date foods

We've all heard the way to a man's heart is through his stomach - but does it work for women, too?

According to Cleveland Clinic dietician Kristin Kirkpatrick, a wise first date food is chicken. "Protein in chicken increases dopamine and norepinephrine. It makes you feel good. It makes you feel relaxed."

If you're nervous about that date, peanuts are supposed to trigger neurotransmitters in our brains that help us relax.

Scallops are another choice because they're packed with zinc, and that benefits sexual function, if needed.

And Kirkpatrick says never underestimate good carotenoids. "Carotenoids are compounds in red colored foods like tomatoes that you'll find in a Bloody Mary, and in this particular study the researchers found individuals that had a lot of carotenoids were found to be more attractive to the opposite sex."
