Michel Mercier detangling hair brush: Does it work?

Taming long hair can be a pain, especially if the lengthy locks aren't yours. The Michel Mercier detangling brush claims to untangle hair without the headache.

Three-year-old Adele Hornsby has a head full of beautiful curls, but they can be a hassle for her mom Megan.

"It's always in her face and when it gets tangled up it's the worst," Megan said. "She's always crying, saying she doesn't want me to do her hair."

Megan relies on detangling spray and her comb, but she's always on the lookout for a product to make the job a little more painless. The Michel Mercier brush has 428 bristles at varying heights, which are supposed to disperse the pressure placed on the hair during brushing. So Megan and Adele gave it a try.

Adele still complained about some pain, but Megan tried it on her own hair, as well. She has long, thick hair, and keeping it tame can be a challenge.

"It always gets tangled up at the nape of my neck, so it's really annoying because there's always balls of hair just clumped right in the center," Megan said.

Megan said the brush made untangling her hair easier.

"I would give it a B," she said. "It had a lot of bristles, which was good. It wasn't damaging to my hair. Adele, I could go either way on…I would alternate using the comb and the brush on her, but for mine, they have a new customer. I really liked it."
